The Micro‐Broadband Receiver (μBBR) on the Very‐Low‐Frequency Propagation Mapper CubeSat

The very low frequency (VLF) propagation mapper (VPM) is a 6U CubeSat designed to measure VLF radio waves in Low-Earth Orbit. science goals of the VPM mission are signals broadcast by DSX mission, and study natural anthropogenic (from lightning transmitters) near-Earth space environment. primary payload consists an electric field dipole antenna deployed 2 meters length, magnetic search coil 50 cm from spacecraft. Signals these two sensors conditioned analog electronics, sampled, then processed digitally into downloadable data products. was launched January 2020; operations began March 2020 continued through September, when contact with spacecraft lost.
